VLH memberships cost $50, but include $60 of CME certificate funds (sufficient for 4 credits of CME).. VLH memberships purchased today, May 09, 2008, will expire on May 09, 2009. (At the end of your year of membership, any remaining CME certificate funds will carry over to renewed memberships.)

You can renew your membership before or after it expires. When you renew your membership, one of two new expiration dates will apply:

1. If your membership has already expired, the renewed membership will expire one year from the date you renew the membership.
2. If your membership has NOT already expired, the renewed membership will expire one year from the purchase date of the currently valid membership.

In either case, any remaining CME certificate funds will carry over to the renewed membership. You can not use any remaining certificate funds toward the purchase of a new annual membership.

We accept all major credit cards: American Express, Visa, and MasterCard, as well as Discover. You can use Visa/MasterCard with the VLH's own secure credit card processing system. You can also pay with American Express, Discover or eCheck (as well as Visa/MasterCard) by selecting the PayPal payment option; Paypal is a third party, global, online payment processor. We do not save, store, or reuse you credit card information after your transaction is completed, and VLH.com employees cannot see your credit card information.

Yes, you can. During the registration process, you can elect to pay for your annual membership by check. When you submit your registration information (including your selected username, password, and email address) we store that information in a temporary account and are automatically notified to expect your check in the mail. When we receive your check, we update your account to permanent status, add the amount of certificate funds you (may have) elected to purchase with a Discounted Package, and email you a notification. Our mailing address is provided for you on the pay-by-check payment page.

Certificate funds are the money in your account that is available to redeem/print CME certificates of participation. (For more information on how to redeem certificates, view the About Certificates FAQ.) VLH CME certificates cost $15.00 per CME credit hour. Your certificate funds are displayed on the My Certificate Funds page of the My Account section and also on your Transcript page above your list of certificates.

When your certificate funds have been expended, you have a number of options to pay for additional certificates:

1. Add Funds - Specify Exact Amount: Indicate how much you would like to add to your VLH account (from $2.00 to $999.00).
2. Individually with credit card: Pay for individual case-based certificates by credit card (from your transcript).
3. Check or money order by mail: You can send us a check to cover the expense of the certificate(s). We will manually add the amount of your check to the certificate funds in your account. You can then use your certificate funds to redeem additional certificates.

These payment options and procedures are accessible to VLH members on the My Certificate Funds.

VLH members can view and/or print receipts for tax or reimbursement purposes. There are two ways to do this. You can place your mouse over the "My Account" menu, then click "View/Edit My Certificate Funds." You will see a link to "View VLH Annual Membership Plan Purchase History." On this page you can click the date to see a printable receipt for reimbursement purposes. Also, if you take a course and redeem a certificate with your certificate funds, your Transcript will contain links to printable receipts.

Yes. There is a $50 minimum charge to become a member, which gives you $60 of CME certificate funds (enough for 4 credits of CME at the standard rate of $15/credit). An Annual VLH Membership gives you access, without further charges, to the case-based programs on the site, even if you don't need the accompanying CME credit. The quiz-based programs require additional payment to access (after the $60 of certificate funds are used). As written or CD programs, some of the materials on our site already sell for thousands of dollars. Take a look at what others have to say. We think you will find The VLH to be the best buy in medical education today.

The payment area of the Virtual Lecture Hall is secured using 128-bit SSL encryption. When using the secure server, your credit card information is never sent over the Web unencrypted. We do not save, store, or reuse your credit card information after your transaction is completed, and VLH.com employees cannot see your credit card information.
